Casting underway for supporting and non-speaking roles for a feature film about the supernatural, finding community, and contending with the unknown.
The Grey Veil Haunt is now casting roles for a feature film. Filming is scheduled June - November 2026 in the Northampton, Greenfield, and Shelburne Falls areas.
About the Film
A transgender medium is haunted by imposter syndrome as she struggles to use her supernatural gifts to find belonging among the living. When certain members of her seance circle grapple with the unknown, fear takes over and the veil is lifted—revealing truths that may not be so black and white.
Roles
Harriet
Supporting Role 30’s - 40’s, Female.
Harriet fights for an extension on her nearly finished book after getting accepted to join an elusive medium’s seance circle. After experiencing the unexplainable she begins to question if the truth is what she really seeks.
Tom
Supporting Role - 30’s, Male.
Tom has a deep faith in God but none in himself. Surrounded by the mysteries of his faith he struggles to accept the divine spark within. While on the cusp of completing Seminary School Tom demands answers to his questions and is willing to look beyond the church walls to find his divine connection.
Sitter 1
Supporting Role 60’s + , Female. Haunted by the trauma of long ago, Sitter #1 is left behind with nothing but family photos, and the words of a reluctant medium.
Sitter 2
Supporting Role 30’s +, Female.
Sitter #2 struggles to hand over her dangerous past to a medium she doesn’t know and doesn’t trust.
Wendy
Supporting Role - 40’s - 50’s, Female. Tired and desperate from a life of constant grief, Wendy sets aside her skepticism to find relief and escape.
Priest
Supporting Role, 50’s +, Male. Intimate with his faith yet distant from the outside world The Priest is tasked with preparing Seminarians to lead their own flocks. As one of his students loses his path he must find the right words to bring him back into the fold.
Therapist
Supporting Role - 40s-50s, Female.
Oscillating between support and suspicion, Melanie’s Therapist attempts to provide answers to Melanie’s world of endless questions.
